Are you using Eitje's clocking system? If so, it's good to know about the available settings. You can find these settings via the menu in the top right corner, and then 'Clocking system'.
Device settings
Here you will find all the devices that have ever been connected. You can also generate codes for new devices, and remove unused codes. Read more about activating the clocking system here.
โ
In the left column 'Device' you can see what device is connected; either a tablet or a browser.
If you see 'Not connected' this means these codes are available to connect a new device with.
Rounding
With these settings, you determine the rounding of the clocked times. You can choose standard, up, or down. This setting will be applied to both the start and end time together; they can not be set separately.
When you set rounding to 5, 10, or 15 minutes, this can be done separately for start and end time. Below you will find a more detailed explanation based on examples.
Standard
Say you'd set the rounding to 5 minutes, and a team member clocks at 10:02. The 'standard' setting would round it down to 10:00, where clocking at 10:03 would round it up to 10:05.
Down
If you'd round down to 15 minutes, clocking at 11:13 would be changed to 11:00. Set to 5 minutes? Then 11:13 would become 11:10.
Up
If you round up to 5 minutes, clocking in at 8:52 will round up to 8:55. When you change it to 10 minutes, 8:52 will round up to 9:00.
Breaks
Break duration editable when clocking out
With this setting you can give your team member the freedom to enter their own breaks when clocking out. When the system shows the duration of their break, they can adjust it. This will then ignore the set automatic break times (next point).
Activate this option when breaks are variable and always different, but also in good faith. It can be switched off at any time, for example when you decide to start working with standard break times.
Automatic breaks
You can add automatic breaks after a certain number of worked hours. For example: a fifteen-minute break after four hours and another fifteen minutes after six hours of work. The breaks are cumulative, so in this example, the team members will get thirty minutes of break time in total.
There are multiple ways to register breaks:
Break in planned shift. When there is a break in a scheduled shift, this will take priority over other break rules.
Automatic breaks, as explained in this article. When the scheduled shift does not contain a break, these break rules will be added.
Clocked breaks: Clock out for your break, and then clock back in.
Depending on the situation as described above, breaks will automatically be added. In case the break duration is editable, team members can adjust this when clocking out.
โ ๏ธ Note: Breaks in the planning take priority: if there is a break in the scheduled shift, the rest will be ignored. However, automatic breaks and clocked breaks do add up when used together.
Clocking out automatically
In case a team member forgets to clock out, Eitje automatically clocks them out at a certain time to prevent the clock from continuing to run. This time is set in the settings for time registration under 'Clocking out automatically at'. This is set by default to 06:00am.
However, there are businesses that run 24/7. In that case you can decide to disable this feature for specific team members. You find this in the personal information in a team member's profile.
