How can I deactivate my Eitje account or cancel my subscription?

Here's what to do when you want to (temporarily) deactivate your account, or and cancel your contract with Eitje.

Temporarily or permanently deactivating your account must always be discussed with our team, and needs to be requested by the 'Admin' of the account. There is a 3 week notice before the end of the month.

The easiest way to get in touch is by using the chat. In case our chatbot responds, ask to be connected to an agent.

Do you work with multiple venues? Then clearly communicate which venue(s) it concerns.

Temporarily deactivate account

Are you a seasonal company and are you closed during the off-season?

Please contact our Support team via chat, so we can temporarily close your venue. You will not receive an invoice in the months that you are closed. Keep in mind that we have a 3 week notice before the end of the month (these 3 weeks start the day after the request). Make sure to request the deactivation in time. You can let us know a few months in advance.

Let us know when you want to have your account reopened. After reopening your account, you'll find it the way you left it. Use the menu in the top right corner to find 'Updates' so you can learn what has changed while you were gone.

Permanently deactivate account

Is Eitje not a good fit for your organisation, or is your business closing and would you like to cancel the subscription?

Please contact our Support team via chat, and ask to speak with an agent so we can take care of the cancellation. Keep in mind that we have a 3 week notice period before the end of the month (these 3 weeks start the day after your request). Depending on when you inform us about closing your account, you might still receive one last invoice.

Tip💡: When you end your subscription with us, we'll mention the date when your account will be permanently closed. Until that date, you can export the necessary data from Eitje, such as worked hours, or leave balances. Also inform your staff so they can get whatever they might need from the app. Of course, your account and data will be kept for at least 5 years.

Account takeover

Should you business be taken over by a new owner, then the Eitje account can also be taken over. This can be useful when the team members remain the same and schedules have already been made.

Add new Admin

It's important that the old (current) Admin, adds the new Admin. First, add this person as a new team member. Then use the company settings to give them the Admin role. This can only be done by the person who currently has the Admin role.

Before you do so, check if the account has any information you do not want the new Admin to access, such as old contracts.

Billing information

The new Admin now has access to everything. First step should be to edit the billing information (also in company settings) so that new invoices do not go to the previous owner.

The new Admin can now also remove the Admin role from the previous owner and mark this profile as inactive.

Organisation

If the account that's been taken over concerns a venue in an organisation it's no longer part of, you can contact the Support team to give this venue its own organisation, so they are no longer connected.
