You can do more in Eitje than make a planning and keep track of worked hours. You can also find a section called 'Knowledge' that consists of articles and skills. Here's a short overview of what these features can do.
Themes and articles
The 'themes' and 'articles' together are like a handbook. Here, team members find all necessary information about the company. It could be general information or instructions specific to their job. It starts with themes. You can add articles and quiz questions to these themes.
➡️ Examples of themes: Menus and price lists / Training for baristas / Manuals
Per theme you can select the teams that need access to it. For example, you create a theme about the new menu in the restaurant, and only make it available to those working in the service team.
Themes are also very convenient to help with your team members' onboardings. You can create a training to automate the onboarding. Team members will then receive a new part of the training in the app at set times. They need to go through the articles and quiz questions to check if they absorbed the information well enough.
Functions
By using functions, you can easily see who possesses which skills. You can also use functions for the schedule by assigning them to both team members and shifts.
What are functions and skills?
Function: A function consists of a number of components. You can assign a function to a shift or to a team member. Every function has a badge (letter and colour) to easily recognise them on the schedule.
Components: Team members can get components assigned. Once they have been assigned each components of a function, they will get the function assigned. Components are usually skills.
➡️ Example 1
Function: Closing
Components: Close till / Clean / Restock fridge
➡️ Example 2
Function: Bar service
Components: Make cocktails / PoS device / Clean glassware / Clean coffee machine
