Eitje app updates

The new app was launched in November 2025. We keep working on improvements. Here you can track what has been done.

Updated this week

Our previous app was outdated and needed to be replaced. In 2025 we built a new app that was launched early November. Initially this was only for Android, but by now all smartphones should have the updated version. Here you can read about the progress we have made since the launch.

⚠️ Does anything listed here seem to be missing for you? Check the Play Store or App Store to see if there is a pending update for the Eitje app.


Update 1

Date: 17 November 2025

  • Bullets in the calendar in the schedule now indicate you have a shift that day.

  • Arrows left and right allow you to go to previous or next day or period.

  • Worked hours:

    • Total hours

    • Total per worked shift

  • Total hours per day in 'Team hours'

  • Comments now showing in open shifts

  • Opmerking zichtbaar in shifts.

  • After approving hours, the screen won't jump back to the top.


Update 2

Date: 8 December (iOS), 15 December (Android) 2025

  • In case of 'partially unavailable' you can now see the from-to time.

  • When you open the schedule, it will open today's date.

  • Less steps, e.g. less confirming when approving hours.

  • Swipe left or right to go to a previous or next day or period.

  • Images in news updates now show fully.


Update 3

Date: 16 December 2025

  • Team leave: all future leave requests of the team in one overview.

  • Team hours:

    • Total and unprocessed hours.

    • Improvements scheduled hours.

  • More details in overview of worked hours and unsubmitted hours.

  • Worked hours now show the venue (if applicable).

  • Old notifications in the newsfeed.

  • Overlapping text fields solved.

  • Other smaller bugs, for example in:

    • Chat

    • Trade requests

    • Explanation fields

    • Text alignments

    • Error message 'network unreachable'

    • Push notifications

Regarding missing push notifications, some smartphones have not had this fix installed automatically with the this update. Please follow these instructions:

  • Check the settings in the app:

    • Use the menu in the bottom right corner to navigate to 'Settings'.

    • Open 'Notifications'.

    • Are they switched off? Then switch them on. Are they already on? Then switch them off, save, switch them on again, and save again.

  • If this isn't the solution for you, check your smartphone settings to see if you have allowed your phone to show notifications from Eitje.

  • Still not working? We recommend removing the app from your phone, and re-install it from the App Store.

  • You can test by asking a colleague to send you a chat message.

  • Please contact us if issues remain.


Update 4

Date: 20 January 2026

We are now testing these feature. When everything works properly the update will be released for all smartphones.

  • Hours that are marked as 'not worked' will now show as 'not worked' instead of 'approved'.

  • Team members will be able to see their own registered leave when submitting their availability.

  • Contract start and end date visible in team member's profile ('My profile').

  • ICE phone number visible for both Admins and Managers.

  • After approving an open shift or trade request, the new shift will be labeled 'new' under 'My shifts'.

  • The 'Knowledge' section will update automatically so that new themes appear directly.

  • Availability: the icons should no longer be blinking when navigating through the weeks.

  • 'Back to menu' option has improved on "trade and pick up" page.

  • Edited shifts will update quicker.

  • A longer event name will now be fully displayed when opening the event.

  • When picking up an open shift or trade request, the shift will now show all detailed information.

  • Less clicks as selecting a team or team member no longer requires confirmation.

  • Adding or changing break times improved.

  • Show when a poll is closed.

  • Date in correct (European) format in notifications.

  • 'Datepicker' tool has been improved when adding hours.

  • Clear overview of registered hours (in 'sheet').

  • Newsfeed opens when you click in on a related push notification.

  • Break times now show in overview 'Team hours'.

  • Pay period as set for contract type now shows correctly under 'Hours'.

  • Prevent shift start and end times to change when you are in a different time zone.


Update 5

Date: 27 January 2026

  • Week overview in schedule to be able to navigate easier and faster between the days in the selected week.

  • Teams will appear in same order as in web version (so not necessarily in alphabetical order).

  • On what day does the schedule open?

    • It will open on the last visited date when the app has not been fully closed and recently used.

    • It will open on today's date if the app has not been used for 30 minutes, or if the app was fully closed by swiping it off your screen.

  • Own shifts more recognisable in schedule.

  • Fix the 'never clock out automatically' option in profiles.

  • Minor UI (interface) fixes
