What notifications do team members receive?

This article explains the different notifications your team members receive.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

To keep team members informed about certain matters in Eitje, we use notifications. For example, team members receive a message when you post a news update, or when their leave request has been approved.

Types of notifications

Team members can receive notifications in three different ways:

  • Push notifications (app)
If team members use the Eitje app, they receive push notifications on their smartphones. They need to have the app installed, and need to be logged in.

  • Browser notifications
If team members use the web browser, they also receive push notifications from Eitje as long as they are logged in. Our browser notifications are the same as the push notifications from the app.

  • Emails
For same matters, team members are (also) informed by email.

Overview of notifications in Eitje

In the table below, you'll find an overview of all possible notifications for team members. For each notification, you can see how it was sent - via a push notification from the app, a browser notification, or an email.

Notification settings

Settings in the web version

You can decide which notifications you want to receive. You can find the notification settings in the web version of Eitje:

  • At the top, navigate to 'Team', then 'My Profile'.

  • Click 'Edit'

  • Go to "Notifications"

As shown in the screenshot below, team members can disable the email and browser notifications. If you turn off email notifications, you will no longer receive emails about new shifts being published. Other emails will still be sent.

  • An 'Admin' can manage emails about new shifts, upcoming birthdays, and expiring contracts.

  • For team members with the role 'Manager', this can be managed for emails regarding new shifts and upcoming birthdays.

  • Team members with the role 'Contracts' can manage emails about new shifts and expiring contracts.

Settings in the app

In the app you find these settings in the menu in the bottom right corner (three dots). Once the menu opens, scroll to 'Notifications' (under 'Settings).

Here you can manage these two settings:

  1. Push notifications

Enable this for all push notifications from the app. Keep in mind you also need to allow your smartphone to let these push notifications through from the Eitje app.

  2. Receive the schedule by email

With this setting you will receive an email every time new shifts are published by the person who creates the schedules.
