Post update to newsfeed

Want to share something new? Here's how to post an update to the newsfeed.

Updated today

On the newsfeed in Eitje, you can post updates to keep your team informed:

For each post you can decide which teams can see it on their newsfeed. You can also add images, videos, events, files, and articles from the handbook ("Knowledge").

Do you want to know how to create a poll, instead of a news update? Go to this article.

Post an update (web version)

  1. Navigate to your newsfeed under 'Communication'.

  2. At the top, click in the text box to create a new post:

  3. A new window will open to create a post. First, write the message you want to share.

  4. Now, select the teams that need to see this update. You can select individual teams, the entire venue, or all teams by ticking the box on top.

⚠️ Note: If you select team 'General' this means this is for all team members of that venue. No need to select other teams then.

  5. Click 'Save' to post the update now, or choose 'save for later' to keep a draft, or schedule this update to be posted at a later chosen time.

Create news update in the mobile app

  1. In the menu, click the tab 'News'.

  2. Then click '+ New' at the bottom.

  3. Select the the teams for which the news update is visible. You can select individual teams, or the venue(s).

  4. Add a subject and write the news message (content).

  5. Make sure 'Send now' is selected and then click the checkmark.

  6. Once posted, all team members in the selected teams receive a notification.

Scheduled posts and drafts

Save for later

Not finished writing your news update yet, and want to continue later? You can save a news update as a draft. Select 'Save for later' if that's what you want.

Schedule

You can also choose to publish the news update at a later moment. Select 'Schedule' to enter a date and time for it to be posted automatically.

Scheduled posts & drafts

When you choose to save it as a draft or schedule your post, a section appears at the top of the newsfeed called 'Scheduled posts & drafts'.

If you click on it to open, you will see the saved drafts and scheduled updates with their scheduled date and time. From here you can adjust the updates, or post the saved draft.

Add extras to your news update

You have the option to attach an image, video, event, file, or article from the handbook. There are two ways to do this:

  1. Before you create your post, you can choose what you want to add by clicking one of the icones below:

  2. If you have already opened the window to create a new post, you can click '+Add' and select the item you wish to add:

  • Image: Upload an image to add to your post. The following formats are supported: .PNG, .JPG, .JPEG, .GIF. Other files can cause an error message and will not be accepted.

💡 Tip: iPhones will save pictures by default as .HEIC. You can change this in the settings of your phone. If you already have a .HEIC photo that you wish to use, there are ways to convert it. The website heictojpg.com is an option.

  • Video: Upload a video to add to your post. You can only upload one, there is no option to use a link (such as YouTube). You could add a link to your written message for readers to click.

  • Event: If there are any events in your planning, you can select them here. This is useful if you want to give an event more attention. Learn more about linking an event to a post.

  • Poll: A poll is actually a separate option from a news update. Ask your team members for their opinion or preference. Read more about creating polls here.

  • File: Do you have a PDF file with extra information, for example about an upcoming event? Or an Excel file? You can attach these to your post too.

  • Article: Add a direct link to an article from the "Knowledge" section in Eitje, for example the 'House Rules', an instruction, or a menu.

⚠️ Note: You can only add one image, one video, and one file. Articles from the handbook have a maximum of two per news update.

Message statistics

Do you want to check who saw your post and, if necessary, send a reminder to team members? You can do this in the app: Message statistics.
