In Eitje, you can gain insight into your financial data, such as revenue. If you're not the Admin, you at least need the Financial role.
There are two types of revenue you can see:
Planning page: The forecast of the revenue can be found underneath the schedule.
Hours page: The revenue results can be found in the time registration.
š” If you canāt see the revenue, open the Show menu and check whether revenue is selected for display on the page.
Forecast (future)
On the Planning per team page, you can view forecast revenue alongside the labour costs of scheduled shifts. Eitje calculates the revenue forecast based on previous revenue results. In the settings, you can choose the period used to calculate the forecast. Based on the forecast revenue and scheduled shifts, you can also see the expected labour productivity, labour cost budget, and labour cost percentage for that day.
ā
Header
At the top of the page, next to the date, you can see the expected labour cost percentage based on the forecast revenue and your current schedule for that day. This helps you assess whether you can afford to schedule additional staff or whether labour costs are too high. By adjusting the number or duration of shifts, you can better align staffing levels with the expected revenue.
Footer
At the bottom of the page, youāll find a revenue bar showing the figures for each day and the weekly total. These forecasts are based on your settings.
Results (past)
On the Hours per team member page, the bar at the bottom shows your realised revenue, along with your actual labour productivity, labour costs, and labour cost percentage. Labour costs are based on:
Approved worked hours.
Worked hours with the status Pending.
Sick leave hours.
Special leave hours.
Revenue settings
Your revenue forecast is based on past revenue and your chosen settings. To adjust these settings, open Company settings from the menu in the top right corner of Eitje and select Financial.
There are two options:
Average of previous weeks (default setting)
By default, Eitje uses revenue from the same weekday over the past four weeks. You can adjust the number of weeks.Example: On a Thursday, it adds the revenue from the last four Thursdays and calculates the average.
Days with no revenue (e.g. future dates or days you were closed) are not included in the calculation.
Same day last year
Eitje uses the revenue from the same weekday and week number of the previous year. With this setting, you can also enter a growth percentage to adjust the forecast.
E.g.: If your revenue increased by 10% compared to last year, you can enter +10%.
ā ļø Note: Don't see the revenue forecast appear? Check whether there is any historical revenue data available.
Retrieve revenue from your POS system
You can easily display your revenue in Eitje by activating an integration with your POS system. This allows your revenue to be automatically retrieved from the till.
This article explains how to set up the integration. You can also view the steps for your specific POS system.
Any integration will retrieve and your revenue every hour, allowing you to make immediate adjustments if necessary.
ā”ļø Is your POS system not on the list? Then you can also manually enter revenue.
š We are always looking for new collaborations. Is the company you're working with missing on the list? Please contact us through this page so we can discuss if an integration is possible.
Add revenue manually
If you don't have an integration with a POS system or prefer to enter your own forecast, you can follow these steps to input your revenue forecast and/or revenue realisation:
Navigate to 'Planning' in the menu at the top.
Ensure that the revenue is being displayed (if not: use the 'Show' button).
At the bottom of the page, a row will appear with the revenue.
Under 'Tools', click 'Manage revenue'.
Choose 'Forecast' or 'Realisation'.
Enter the revenue for each day.
ā ļø Note: In the planning, you can only enter revenue for today and days in the future. In the time registration, you can only enter revenue for today and days in the past.
ā
š” Tip: You can also import revenue from a file. The file must be formatted as follows: eitje_example_revenue_import (1).xlsx. In the revenue footer, you'll find this option under Tools. You can import both the forecasted and realised revenue. You can also select the revenue group for which you want to import revenue, if applicable.
Manage revenue groups
Creating revenue groups and managing the distribution of labour costs will affect how the revenue is shown. Make sure these are set up correctly.
Click here for more information about managing revenue groups and the distribution of labour costs.
Revenue seems incorrect or incomplete
Does the revenue in Eitje not match the figures shown in your POS system? Often, this is because a revenue group is set up incorrectly. Or it could be even simpler: you might be looking at the revenue in āPlanningā instead of āHoursā.
If you donāt see any revenue data in Eitje, the integration may no longer be active.
If any issues, follow these steps to verify the problem:
First, check if the POS system is switched on.
Verify that the integration is active; the connection might have been broken. To do this, go to 'Data' in the main menu, and select 'Integrations'. Reactivate the integration if necessary.
Check the integration settings. You can find these by clicking the three dots on your POS integration, then 'Configure'. The integration will only work if all revenue groups from the POS system are properly assigned to revenue groups in Eitje. Itās possible that a new revenue group has been added but not yet assigned. Each revenue group must be checked under either 'Total' or 'Inactive'.
If you work with multiple venues, also verify under 'Venues' in the integration settings that the relevant location is correctly linked.
Manage your revenue groups. In the company settings of your Eitje account, you will find the labour cost allocation. Here, you can create and manage groups.
